Is the border between Georgia and Russia open to citizens of other countries? Why the accepted answer is contradictory to other, seems to me better founded, answers? |

How to register while wild camping in the Balkans? I know but I wouldn't like to make it country specific. I think it is possible to answer generally and give some hints for special regulations in specific countries (there shouldn't be too many). |

How to understand the registration rules in Serbia? Does it mean you do not have to register if you stay in a place less than 24h? |

How to register while wild camping in the Balkans? Because you are obliged to do so. If the law is enforced is another question, not considered here. |

What happens if you cannot pay for a hotel? Let's say Europe, or France even, for example. |

How to use trekking clothes? @vartec And the price scares the pants off of everyone :) Though definitely they are necessary in high mountains, more because of wind or snow. Nevertheless for hiking there are more important things to buy. |

How to use trekking clothes? My opinion is that waterproof trousers are impracticable, because you are going to sweat like hell. And it is not something like a jacket that you can put on or off whenever you want. Better take something that dries fast. |

In which cultural regions is taking pictures of people considered offensive? I have just read book on photography (a National Geographic one) and what they advise, regarding your point nr 2, is to pay for the photo if you are asked for that. |

What is ticket reconfirmation and why does it exist? Assuring that your schedule has not changed is something very different from reconfirmation. |

How do I spend my traveling time wisely? This could be a good question, if edited a bit, but I am afraid list questions are already not allowed? |

Is it normal to have something added to the bill in a restaurant in Italy? I looked at this in another restaurant (pizza) and indeed the price was on the first page in the menu. However I was not charged. How to explain it? Is there any rule behind it? |

Do I need to make a reservation in a mountain hut in Slovakia in the Tatra mountains? As for polish mountains you will be never kicked out of the public refuge (PTTK). There is a private refuge in the polish east Tatra called "Murowaniec" which probably accounts for most of the bad stories. |

Why are there so many top-rated hostels in Portugal? I stayed in a 98% rated hostel in Lisbon and I barely have left it during my 3 days stay. The reputation was definitely hard-earned. |
