comment Full-day stopover at Toronto between two international flights
I don't think French nationals need visas for Canada, but I could be wrong.

You are an EU resident, but what is your nationality?

comment Why did my flights make unscheduled fuel stops?
It used to be that Gander, Newfoundland was one of the main refuelling points.

comment What is the SHORTEST commercial passenger flight (with a flight number) in the world?
I just took a flight between two islands that are visible from one another (a 20-minute ferry ride) and thought that I'd have a chance at beating the 2-mins. NOT EVEN CLOSE! Lift off to touch down took close to 10 mins with the getting into position for the landing approach. A real disappointment!

comment Why would you wrap your luggage in plastic?
I had to do it once when my suitcase zipper broke about 10 minutes before leaving for the airport. It was worth every penny!

comment Are there money changing facilities at the Turkey/Georgia border, and how good are they?
I have had good luck exchanging money with the assistants who work on buses travelling to and from Turkey. If nothing else, they can often point you to an unofficial money changer at the border. If you are stuck with TL in Tbilisi, a trip to the bus station might pay off.

comment US and Canada Border Crossing and Computer Privacy: What do I need to know?
@littleadv The OP's question is "US and Canada Border Crossing and Computer Privacy: What do I need to know?" and I think that falls into the "you need to know" category!

Perhaps you cannot be denied entry, but you are subject to punishment - including imprisonment - if you attempt to import certain materials, physical or electronic.

But they can take away your laptop if you don't provide the information that they want. Am I mistaken in saying that normal constitutional rights do not apply at borders (even for US citizens)?

Are you sure that normal laws apply at customs? Normally, a police officer can not conduct a physical search of you or your belongings without a warrant or probable cause, but this does not apply at a border crossing. My impression was that there is no expectation of privacy when you are at a US border and that searches (including those of computer equipment) are perfectly legal. This goes for US and non-US citizens.

comment What's the cheapest transport to get from Ataturk International aiport to the Taksim Square area of Istanbul?
@dbkk Yes, but only the one at Kabataş is called a funicular (it is the funicular in Turkish). The one at Karaköy is called Tünel.

The funicular is at Kabataş not Karaköy.
