After half-life programming computers in C/C++ and assembly, in 2009 I changed radically and started a new life as LAMP programmer. Now I'm in love with web programming.

comment Accurate hiking maps of Austria
Have you give a try to Open Stret Maps or Garmin ones? They are not as good as the Switzerland maps you have, but are similar (without colors)

comment May an airline change the aircraft from the scheduled one?
@Relaxed I used to flight with Turkish and they offered in-flight entertainment, (relative) good food, etc. Iberia also offers that now. For me to have a sit that is always lean back is a security concern that qualify a flight as "not in a good condition to flight". I just asked the company to let me take next flight if they cannot offer me the aircraft they used to. Now they loose a client.

comment Are dashcams legal in Germany?
About the last paragraph: newer cameras records only specific clips (accidents determined by an accelerometer or user defined sections) and throw away other clips. This way the police or the court only have access to the last 5 minutes before the accident so you are safe if you cross a red light half an hour before. Anyway, my advice is never tell police you have a camera, give it to your lawyer in the case the other driver don't assume his fault.

comment May an airline change the aircraft from the scheduled one?
@ntoskrnl Yes, it was a 3+3, but I don't remember which model. The name of the aircraft was Ankara and I noticed the change of aircraft because they changed my pre-selected seat and tell us they had to change the seat because the aircraft is different. This model doesn't have entertaiment onboard, the food was crap, my seat was allways lean back because the button doesn't work... I always choose Turkish to go to SEA because they have the best aircrafts, food, etc. and this aircraft surprised me and will make me think twice before book with them again.

comment May an airline change the aircraft from the scheduled one?
@Gagravarr Yes, I prefer they take me on a good-condition aircraft rather than arrive at time. The point is they don't allow me to stay in Istanbul and wait until the next flight to Madrid.

comment Good GPS device to tracking my travels?
"Ability to store months of data" forget about any Garmin, even the newest products has very limited track data space (in my last trip to Iceland it got stuck after 9 days of tracking even with 2 gb of free space in the memory card).

comment Where can I find delay/cancelation statistics for a given airline route?
These give real time data, but not historical or agregated data. (At least I couldn't find it).

comment How to get Auschwitz-Birkenau from Wroclaw?
More or less: we take a train from Wroclaw to Oświęcim (train change at Trzebinia) and then a taxi to Birkenau (9 PLN). After the visit, we try to find a bus to go to Krakow but cannot find. Finally we take a train from Oświęcim to Trzebinia and from here another one to Kraków (9 PLN, 3 hours). You can check my blog if you read Spanish or use a translator: apeadero.es/2012/06/auschwitz

comment Would a ticket from Bangkok to a European destination be sufficient proof of onward travel arrangements to be admitted into Malaysia?
First, I'm Spanish and I've enter in Malaysia without any return ticket, so I'm pretty sure you won't have any problem. And second, if you are unsure, do what @Gagravarr say: buy the cheapest ticket you can to go out (flights from KUL to SIN are around 10 pounds!!).

comment Maps Showing Routes of Multiple Airlines
Beware with OpenFlights, some routes are outdated. For instance, it shows the Formosa Airlines routes (i.e. ALC-DME), but Formosa disappeared in 1999.

comment How to get from Flores to Lombok by sea with stops?
So if I understood well, your advice is try to negotiate the price of the Perama tour once in Labuan Bajo, right? It's a bit risky because if the cruise is full we have to wait some extra days or flights...

comment Hákarl aka Rotten Shark - the ultimate souvenir
I was in Iceland last April and I took some of these back to Spain without any problem. Buy it last day in the Bonus supermarket (the cheapest I found) and check your local rules about dry fish import. Anyway, it's an interesting souvenir, specially when you the face of your friends after taste it.

comment Not flying the first leg of the journey – Company cancels the second-leg ticket
When you say: "Even if you skip the last leg, the airline might penalise you later" are you saying that if I don't take the return flight I can be penalised? How?
