comment Must I pay 3 CUC per day to have a SIM card in Cuba?
@MarkMayo I've been there in August. In fact, 72 hours ago I was at Havana :) In all international hotels and many city places like "La rampa", "El Capitolio", etc there are public wifi spots. This is why I say that "everything is changing very fast" ;)

Bellamar ferry is no longer available. I was asking about this topic in Habana and the two options you have now are Kometa and Cubana and the prices are those you mentioned.

@MarkMayo everything is changing very fast. Now there are wifi spots in almost every city, fast and reliable, but a bit expensive (2 CUC per hour).

comment What sort of computer / electronic device would you take on a backpack trip around Europe to allow you to keep in touch?
I'm also very 'weight conscious' but I couldn't stay without a 11 inches laptop because I need a PC to work. The idea of carrying just a USB hard drive with a virtual machine is very attractive... but I still have some doubts about it. How do you work? Just connect the HD to the hostel PC? The hostel owners allow that? And, may be the most important, do you have a regular job? Because I have my own business and maybe I have to work 2 or 3 days at month, but some times I have a bug to solve and I have to work one week 12 hours a day... Thanks for your advices :)

comment What's the cheapest stable route to cross the Pacific?
@AdrienBe I've do some research and the cheapest prices I find for Bangkok are around $350 (BKK-LAX) and fly to BKK from Australia is not very expensive. The curious part of this is that this is that these BKK-LAX are not crossing the Pacific, they go to Europe and from there to LAX :-O But that's a good answer if you want to write it ;)

@NateEldredge the stability is a requirement because the date is unknow due I'm asking to have an idea about how to cross the Pacific Ocean the day I arrive to Australia and have to cross it in my around-the-world trip. Anyway the "stable" price, has its limits, of course, I cannot pretend to buy a ticket for tomorrow in high season and pay the same than for a ticket 3 month in advance and low season. The "stable" should be understand as a goal, not as a strict rule.

Well, I'm not looking for a ship only, a flight is ok. The question is: which is the cheapest way to cross the Pacific flying or by sea?

If it's cheaper I have no problem to stop, but it's not necessary. To clarify, I'm looking for a reliable and cheap way to cross from Oceania or south of SEA to anywhere in the american continent (north or south). No problem if this imply a lot of stopovers or I have to take a ship + some flight.
