The first paragraph on that Wikipedia article is extremely hard to parse for me.

comment Can I roller skate on the street in France?
No city in Australia would ever grant any such thing to lowly skaters. I recall there were two events in Paris at the time, one in the daytime and one at night. I think the daytime one was for people of all levels and the night one was hardcore. I went on the daytime one in winter. I don't know if they were organized by the same people.

comment How do I go from Vientiane to Chiang Mai?
There's travel agents selling all kinds of bus tickets here in Vientiane and also many if not most hostels, guesthouses, and hotels also sell bus tickets.

comment Can I roller skate on the street in France?
This surprises me. I used to travel everywhere with my rollerblades and found France about the most skate-friendly place I'd been. Even in Paris there was a massive organized skating event right through the heart of the city twice per week I think. There would be police on skates to make sure drivers let the skaters through (presumably also there in case some skaters misbehaved) and I believe an ambulance was also trailing the pack. This was about fifteen years ago and regularly had thousands of participants. In Australia I've been hassled by the police for skating in every city except Sydney!

In Australia even the terms "outside lane" and "inside lane" are illogical and opaque. I've been an Australian for almost half a century and still don't get it. Roads are the only places where the "outside" is nearest the centre and the "inside" is out by the edge. I have no idea if it's the same in other countries. I prefer to avoid the terms altogether in cross-cultural communication, just like "first name", "last name", "Christian name".

comment Will having used one previous double-entry visa for China make me eligible for a multiple entry visa now?
Whether or not you can provide the necessary paperwork and proof, you might not be able to obtain a multiple-entry visa for China, depending on where you apply. As an Australian citizen I've found I can't get a true multiple entry visa in either Vietnam or Laos, though I can get a double-entry visa in Laos. Here's a new question just on where you can get true multiple-entry visas: travel.stackexchange.com/questions/48052
