comment Efficient way of travelling with a lot of coins for coin machines
I don't think I have ever taken coins to any theme park or tourist place. I figure if they want my money they will make it easy for me to spend, not rely on me to go to extra trouble!

comment Is it possible to carry pepper spray for self-defense?
Prague is pretty safe as well - same as any city: there would be some areas you wouldn't go, but it is very tourist friendly.

comment Wearing a unique piece of clothing around Europe, good or bad? - Kilt
hahahahahahaha. I'm sure I do have a picture of me on stage wearing only a kilt and military boots. Oh, and a mask...

comment Suitcases: hard or soft? Canvas, polycarbonate or something else?
I can't remember the brand but no, it didn't cover it, and neither did the flight insurance.

comment How to successfully haggle / bargain in markets
Unless you are haggling for the enjoyment of it (which some do) the only criterion you can use is what you are willing to pay. The actual market value or cost to the trader is almost irrelevant. Sometimes you will pay over, sometimes under the real value - as long as you are paying what you think is reasonable, that's fine.

comment Best way to make my ears pop?
@MarkMayo - keep one cheek taught while allowing the other to relax and loosen the opening to that eustachian tube only. It gets really easy with practice.

comment How to avoid having my drink spiked in a bar
as @zeocrash says, I'd feel much safer in Japan than some areas in other countries. I don't think you should believe all the bad hype you have heard.

revised How to avoid having my drink spiked in a bar
Edited as it was too localised (and not for good reasons). This should be answerable for all countries.

I think this isn't Japan specific as this sort of thing can happen anywhere. Despite scaremongering it doesn't appear to be that common anywhere though, but some sensible tips on how to avoid this are probably useful globally.
