comment I have booked a flight from the USA to China and am a dual national. How do I avoid China getting to know this?
I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it is about advice for circumventing the law.

comment Overstaying Tourist Visa by One Day in South Africa
You should investigate visa rules more carefully. In some countries, even unpaid work is forbidden on a tourist visa. Not sure about South Africa, but you should check.

comment Is it rude to sit next to a passenger if other seats are available?
@reirab: On some flights, especially on smaller planes, there are weight-and-balance issues that mean it is important for passengers to sit (or not sit) in certain parts of the plane. Flight attendants then have to spend time before takeoff rearranging people, and if you move around while they're doing so, you'll really annoy them. In such cases, you might see lots of empty rows, but not be able to move to them.

comment Where can a tourist play horseshoes in Washington, DC?
Yeah, Langdon Park itself is clearly a public park, owned and maintained by the city government. But I wouldn't expect there to be city personnel there actually supervising it all the time.

I think DC Park Rx is an unofficial site; the first link I gave is actually run by the DC city government. (Insert your own joke as to that being the reason why it doesn't work.)

I don't know why it wouldn't be. More likely this is a problem with your browser, or the site's SSL setup. You should be able to have your browser ignore the problem; it's not as if the information on the site is sensitive.

Yes, of course; it's a fine question. I just thought the suggestion of parks might help you know more specifically what to look for.

I am not sure what you mean by "publicly supervised". Horseshoes is a very casual game and most people play it without any formal rules or referee. I don't think it's too likely you'll find a privately run horseshoe pit, except maybe off in the corner of a country club or something.

I don't know about DC specifically, but it's not uncommon for a public park or beach to have a horseshoe pit. It's really nothing more than a sand pit with a stake driven in the ground at either end. You'd probably be expected to bring your own horseshoes, but they should be available inexpensively at any sporting goods store. So you might get somewhere just by a Google search for "park with horseshoe pit + your neighborhood".

comment Can a shop in the Netherlands force you to buy clothes if you take a photo?
I think this question might be a better fit for law.stackexchange.com. While it is a question that in principle could be of interest to travelers, it seems like legal experts would be more able to answer it authoritatively than travel experts.

comment Is it still necessary to pre-request a vegetarian meal on intercontinental flights?
The wording of your question "Should I...?" does make it sound opinion-based. Maybe you should rephrase as a factual question: "Do airlines generally offer vegetarian meals without needing a special request?"
