@jwenting: On all occasions when I've walked into a hotel and asked for a room without having prebooked, I've still paid far less than the rate posted on the door. The same when I've booked just a few hours in advance.

3900 meters is 12,800 feet. Clearly this mountain is not part of the Yosemite valley, ,and I think this suggests there very likely will be snow on his mountain.
