comment Traveling to Canada as a US Citizen for a very short trip
It's worth noting that enhanced driver's licenses are only an option if you live in one of the few states that issue them. Currently, as far as I can tell, they are Michigan, New York, Vermont, Washington, and possibly Minnesota.

comment Can I know where I need to go to experience a given weather type?
In my experience, weather forecasts are generally not accurate enough to be able to predict significant differences in weather over distances as short as 100km.

Similar: travel.stackexchange.com/questions/21155/…. It suggests the answer is "no, you will be just fine."

comment Change flights in Vienna and time of Austrian Airlines flight
I would definitely trust schedule info from the airline's website over your travel agent. Also, I assume 7-8-2014 is August 7 (not July 8 which is already past)?

comment Getting back to Heathrow for an early flight
Does London have door-to-door airport shuttles? They are quite common in the US and are usually significantly cheaper than a taxi.

comment What other countries besides India use a Maximum Retail Price model?
@Karlson: I am guessing here, but it sounds like the law requires the manufacturer to set a maximum price and the retailer to charge no more than that amount. Presumably the manufacturer has some incentive to choose a price that is somewhat reasonable, as if they print INR 100000000 on a candy bar it will look like their intention is to enable retailers to gouge, which could be bad for PR.

comment How to buy one airplane seat and reserve adjacent ones?
Not quite the same thing, but my understanding is that on certain flights (particularly intra-Europe), "business class" gets you a window or aisle coach seat plus the guarantee that the seat next to you will be unoccupied. (So on planes with 3-3 seating, they can still sell 4 business class tickets per row.)

comment Can the grace period for a non-refundable ticket be leveraged to get a lower price?
This is even easier in the US, where the law allows you to cancel any ticket within 24 hours for a full refund, whether you've already paid or not, as long as the flight is at least one week ahead. dot.gov/affairs/2012/dot0812.html. I don't think there's anything that could stop you from doing this, but since prices fluctuate both up and down, I don't think it would last more than one or two cycles, and the savings would probably be marginal.

comment Why do Indian citizens need many visas?
I think #2 is a chicken-and-egg issue: visa-free travel is usually allowed on a reciprocal basis. If both the US and India were interested in allowing visa-free travel for each other's citizens, based on criteria like #1, they would negotiate, and upon agreement both would simultaneously drop their visa requirements. So #1 is probably the real obstruction.

comment Insurance for skydiving in USA as a UK citizen
I don't know the answer, but have you asked the company that's organizing your jump? I'd think they would have insurers to recommend, and would expect a US insurer would be able to cover you regardless of your citizenship.

comment Mobile internet in New York City
Depending how "free" you want it, I'd be surprised if there's a single cafe in the city that won't let you use their wifi if you buy a cup of coffee. And in the denser parts of the city there are several cafes on every block.

comment What can a railroad company do to you if they find you riding in an open box car?
Nitpick: I don't think tracks and train yards are actually federal property (i.e. belonging to the federal government) in most cases; rather, they belong to whatever railroad company owns them. But it may well be that trespassing there is a violation of federal law.

Ok. You might get better information on some other site; I believe there is a very active community of rail enthusiasts on the Internet.

Is the actual age of the engine significant to you? For example, the California Western Railroad in northern California, also known as the "Skunk Train", operates (among others) an engine that looks similar to your picture, but was built in 1924, which was hardly the time of the "Wild West". comment Applying for an Indian visa after getting naturalized in a different country after having Indian citizenship
Just as a check: although the US considers that you gave up your Indian citizenship when you gained US citizenship, are you sure that India considers it the same way? Is it possible that India still considers you an Indian citizen? I have heard that this is the case for Russia.
