comment How to get from Bagdogra to Kurseong
Sorry, I going there later this summer for the first time, so I don't have any first hand experience. However Any place of arrival in Asia has usually people who want to drive you somewhere. It is all a question of the price. And no, I don't know how much it should be.

comment Where to buy Thai Bahts when traveling from New Zealand to Thailand?
@Arik Fraimovich - I actually have not been to the new airport in Bangkok. But without the exception of some super tiny airports, all airports I've even been to have ATMs. I just did a quick search and there are ATMs at the airport, but people complain that there is a charge of at least 150 TBH. There may be cheaper ATMs elsewhere in Thailand but not in the airport.

The M in ATM stands for machine, so the second 'machine' is redundant. Bank machine or cash machine is more international.

comment Fastest way to get from Heathrow Airport to Knightsbridge London?
I agree, I just used the cash fare prices to make the point that the bus is cheaper than the tube.

comment How to prepare for very long train journeys?
I did it in 9 months, as I said I did a lot of stops and side trips. An rough estimate for the actual time on trains would be 16 days.

London-Brussels-Berlin-Warsaw-St.Petersburg-Moscow-Irkutsk-Ulaanbaatar-Beijing-S‌hanghai-Hanoi-Saigon (bus to the Cambodian Thai border) Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur-Singapore. In reality I took a lot of side trips and several buses too, but that was the general route.
