Yes. I recently stayed at Calangute beach and a taxi driver took me to Old Goa and Panjim for 1400 rupees. This price is from a government table and is used by all the taxi drivers. If Panjim was not involved the ride would have cost around 1000 rupees. If you negotiate you can get it cheaper than the table price. I don't remember exactly how long the ...

I've been to Goa twice only, so I can't claim to be an expert. You haven't mentioned where you will be located, so perhaps what I'm going to write won't be suitable for you. The first time I went north; we stayed near Mandrem, which turned out to be a very relaxing area to be, close to the more lively Arambol but with a nicer beach and fewer people around. ...

The state run transport company, KSRTC has very good well maintained a/c buses to Goa from Bangalore. You can check the availability and book tickets online from their website. Make sure to select service class as 'Premium' to get a/c buses in your search results. Since Goa being a well known tourist place and April-June is summer vacation, it is advisable ...

Well Goa has an almost unbroken 70 km coastline of beaches, so I'd definitely try and fit that in at some point. If you are after souvenirs, try the Anjuna flea market. Sounds like you won't have time for diving or kitesurfing etc, so won't worry about that. However if you're at the beach you may see an opportunity for something like that or jet skis, or ...

Your question is old but this answer might be useful to other users. Is it possible to visit Old Goa (for a day trip) from one of the beach resorts? How long would a taxi drive take and how much would it cost? ---> hooray has answered these questions. Or is it better to spend a night or two in Panaju, and then move to the beach? ----> Instead ...

You can, but it's not recommended. As mentioned by the previous answer, Goa being a popular destination, the buses are usually booked out. It is preferable to book your tickets at least a day or two in advance. Redbus is a portal where you can check out the availability of private buses.

The reason is relatively straightforward: June - September is Monsoon time, the prevailing wind switches from southeast to southwest and brings massive amounts of rain and humidity. Goa is on the western coast of India, so the resulting wave heights are significantly greater and the waves are much more forceful. This means that both the waves and the ...

Goa has list of water sporting activities and most popular amongst them are Jet skiing, Para sailing and banana ride. Scuba diving, however, is yet underdeveloped sport in Goa. Goa is more popular for its clubbing, relaxing, beautiful scenic beauty and it Susegadu (which means relaxed attitude in Goan language) attitude. If you are interested in Scuba ...

After doing a web search, most of the seasonal references to Goa during the "off season" months (which are the monsoon months) are discussing the heavy waves and more constant and stronger on-shore wind. Coupled with the rains of the monsoon and the normal oceanic issues (rip tide, etc) and the ocean is usually marked off limits. While some (younger) ...

Purely speculation, but maybe it's what's under the water. In Japan, east-coast beaches close in September. The waves are no problem, there are very few rip currents, but there are a lot of jellyfish in the fall.

While you probably need to qualify to enter, if you're interested in spectating, the 2013 Losophone Games will be taking place in Goa during November, and there may well be follow-on events after that closer to your arrival. Otherwise I'm afraid your question might be considered a bit too localised :/ Hope that is at least of interest, though!
