edit Thanks @DumbCoder for the link to the New Indian Express article about Chennai taxis and Ola Money. In the specific case of Ola, it seems the complaint is late payment; even though the driver is supposed to be credited within two working days of the transaction, apparently Ola has not been timely, sometimes not paying them for almost a week. Overall, ...

You can, but it's not recommended. As mentioned by the previous answer, Goa being a popular destination, the buses are usually booked out. It is preferable to book your tickets at least a day or two in advance. Redbus is a portal where you can check out the availability of private buses.

The state run transport company, KSRTC has very good well maintained a/c buses to Goa from Bangalore. You can check the availability and book tickets online from their website. Make sure to select service class as 'Premium' to get a/c buses in your search results. Since Goa being a well known tourist place and April-June is summer vacation, it is advisable ...

As far as I can tell reading on the embassies websites there is no reason for them to stop you at the airport at either destination. With the switch in BKK (Bangkok) I believe you will not enter customs and your luggage is automatically forwarded. The people at Bangalore have the option of stopping you if they think you will be refused entry to your ...

Taxi drivers dont like payment through OLA because more of their income shows up on papers and that would eventually lead to more income tax. Most taxi drivers dont even file income tax returns and paying payments through such platforms would eventually bring them into the tax net hence the resistance. There is another reason that is hard for many people to ...

Bangalore has a higher-than-average elevation over sea level because it's part of a plateau - the Deccan Plateau. This elevation and local weather conditions do not cause snowfall in the region. The highest mountains in the vicinity are part of the Nilgiri mountain range and they don't really get any snow (if my memory of geography class and my travels ...

The following is "common sense" based on my own travels. Officialdom may decide otherwise. If I was doing this I'd try very hard to get an official answer to this in advance and very preferably in writing. I certainly would not trust only the advice of well meaning people like me on an internet site :-). If you have a Singapore visa and the two ...

You can easily visit Mysore Palace in one day and travel back to Bangalore. When I was working in Bangalore, we started early in the morning by state transport bus avoiding the traffic. You can find several buses plying regularly between Bangalore and Mysore. One can get a bus for Mysore from the main city bus stand (Majestic). The most economical option ...

As far as I can tell the second-last train to Bangalore from Mysore leaves at 8:30 PM (Mysore-Chennai Kaveri Express #16221, ~3 hours). The palace itself closes at 5:30 PM. The illumination timings are only on weekends and public holidays, and begin at 7 PM (and end at 7:30 on Saturday and 8 on Sunday anyway). That should leave you plenty of time to reach ...

Bangalore is a city full of identical shopping malls. There isn't much to see in the city itself. There is Lal Bagh, Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, Bangalore Palace, HAL Museum, Visvesvaraya Technological Museum - that's it, I guess. There are tons of beautiful weekend getaways very close to Bangalore - Nandi Hills, Masinagudi, Bandipur, Mysore, Ooty, Yercaud ...

Like Mark said, you need to define what is near. Anyways, I am considering near as overnight drive. The one I have been to is Dandeli. It is one of the best river rafting destinations in South India. There are direct buses from Bangalore. The rapids are really exciting and there are trained instructors as well, in case you are a newbie.

I tried to find this specific limitation on airline sites in India and I wasn't able to. If you are under the prescribed weight limit, I cannot foresee any problem with carrying 3 laptops in domestic flights.

There are two options for you - Via Kolar & Chittor which is shorter by 30KMs but slower due to two lane roads and no toll. Via Krishnagiri & Vellore, quicker but one need to pay toll. There are 5 toll booths between Bangalore and Chennai via Krishnagiri. Toll keeps varying as the toll operators keep changing the toll every 4-6 months.

You can easily visit Mysore within a day. I stay in Bangalore and Mysore is about 150 odd kms only. Train is a bit of an issue when it comes to availability. I usually take a motorcycle. There are lots of really nice places along the highway. Couple of must try delicacies like Biddady's Tadde idly. I would suggest you enjoy the journey as well by going by a ...

Your math is wrong. The first 4 items added together gives a pre-surcharge price of 319.23. The "Peak Pricing charge" that was added is 255.38, which is 0.8x of the above 319.23. Thus you were only charge 1.8x the base rate, not 2.8x as you have claimed.

As an Indian passport holder, you would not be allowed through immigration unless you apply for and receive a visa in advance. (see here) And if your friend does not have a valid ticket, then they can't get past security. So, unfortunately, it seems like you will probably need to bring your bag with you to Malaysia.

For all Rent a cab services, If entering from Karnataka to TamilNadu via Hosur, there is RTO check post where temporary permits are provided for one week, 4+1 = ₹150 + handling charges ~₹100

I have driven several times from Bangalore to Goa, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Pondicherry. I never needed a permit to enter any of these states. My Uttar Pradesh license and Karnataka registration worked even when it was checked at border check posts. Having said that, I guess the rules are different if you book a self-drive rental vehicle. In which case, it ...
