Could it be legally possible to change my name in a different country? I'm planning on changing my name, would I have to go to where I was born and change it there, or can I just avoid the travel and do that where I'm currently living?

Could you provide more details? What country were you born in? Where are you now? What citizenship do you hold? – Mark Mayo Sep 7 '12 at 19:19

Perhaps it's possible to do it at an embassy or consulate of your country of citizenship. I guess you'd want a new passport issued as well. If you're a permanent resident or stateless, then perhaps different rules apply. – dbkk Sep 7 '12 at 19:27

IMO, this is not related to travel. It looks like a legal question... – HaLaBi Sep 7 '12 at 19:31
