In the last few days I spent in Vancouver, I realized that there are really a lot of Asians in Vancouver. On all my other travels, I haven't seen so many Asians here. On the airport, the sings are very often also mentioned in Chinese (?) letters and also other sings seem to be in Chinese.

So why are there so many people traveling to Vancouver from Asia? Is it especially cheap or well reachable?

Sorry, while interesting, it's not a travel question, and even if you could argue that it borderline is, expats/immigration questions are off topic :/ I'll help out in the Travel Chat tho with an answer for this :) – Mark Mayo Aug 12 '12 at 2:52
So you're saying they are living there and not tourists? Anyway, that was also part of my question ;) – RoflcoptrException Aug 12 '12 at 2:53
I changed the title to be more into travel... I voted to reopen.. – HaLaBi Aug 12 '12 at 3:01

You should never change someone's question title to a different question. It's like putting words in their mouth. Fix spelling, reword to make more sense, sure, but not change the meaning. I'm reverting it. If Rofl wants to, he can, and if you want to ask the question, ask it separately. – Mark Mayo Aug 12 '12 at 4:27

While I'm not in favour of this question either, it's not really different to a lot of the questions with the factoids tag and some others too actually. – hippietrail Aug 12 '12 at 10:41

Vancouver is in the west side and it's normal to have so many Asians in the west side of North America as it is closer to China and Japan and other Asian countries. I have read a research about that sometime ago I just can't find it now. Anyway same concept applies for Latin Americans in the south of north America and Arabs in the East of North America.

One more thing, @MarkMayo commented in the chat some other reasons, the climate and the relatively simple visas. Which makes more sense now beside it is closer to Asia.

I don't see the correlation with Arabs in the East of N. America – Simon Feb 28 at 12:42
