Still trying to figure out this site, my first post.

Regarding the title, hear me out here. I've always been curious to know if there are any technology oriented professionals who travel for a living. I'm not talking corporate meetings which require you to travel, I'm talking about you travelling while you work.

With this day in age, a lot of technology oriented jobs can be completed without stepping foot into an office. You 'python hackers' out there, you 'script monkeys' out there, are you living this dream?

If you have some how landed a job where you can login to work from Ibiza one day, then Spain the next week, I'd love to hear your story. Is this possible? Sustainable?

I don't even think you would need that much to fulfill this dream. A modest salary of a programmer can allow this sort of travel, although personal circumstances often anchor individuals.

So tell me SE/Travel, are you working at a job currently (tech in particular), coding away from a beach out in the middle of no where, frequently logging onto the interwebs to generate income?

Thanks

Welcome to Travel.SE. As it stands, this question is VERY open-ended, chatty, AND invites discussion, which is not the sort of question suited to Travel.SE (see our faq). If you can rephrase it to a specific problem that you face that we can solve, that's great, but if you're here to chat / discuss something (like this question seems to be) - like many of us are - that sort of thing is best done in our Travel Chat room. Like you many of us are tech travellers, and we'd be happy to discuss this in there! :) – Mark Mayo Jul 28 '12 at 22:54
I've closed it for now, but if you do rephrase to a specific question, please flag it for reopening and we can do so, provided it meets the faq terms. :) – Mark Mayo Jul 28 '12 at 22:56
If you are an American looking to network with other individuals who are permanent travelers, you might have better success on International Man. If you are already living internationally, check out InterNations. – todofixthis Jul 29 '12 at 15:34
