What is the better way to travel safely in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico? Is it better to rent a car, take the bus or take taxis?

@vartec: Not to belittle dangers of Ciudad Juárez, but that particular "ranking" is nothing short of arbitrary. Take it with a big grain of salt. (St. Louis is more dangerous than Mogadishu? And in 2012, "the most dangerous city in the world" is Cape Town?) – Jonik Jun 14 '12 at 19:14

I suspect the answer depends on how you define "safety." Taxis (anywhere in Mexico) are unsafe for your pocket book, if you're not very careful and savvy. Buses may provide the lowest chance of bodily harm, but pick pockets may be a problem, etc. – Flimzy Aug 8 '12 at 3:03

This is something I'm wondering too. I've never been there but I read alot about it during the past months and I still don't know what to think about.

One of the best resources I've found so far is the Wikitravel article on Ciudad Juárez.

It has an interesting section about Security that you may want to check.

Ok I'll remove it. I've changed my mind. Link to other sites are the essence of the web. Wikitravel is a well known site, and a high ranked one on google, mostly because it is linked a lot on other sites. Many questions in stackexchange can (and actually are) answered with link from other sources you can easily find with goole. If you don't like it you can happily vote it down. – Geeo Jun 14 '12 at 15:18
