I was on a little roadtrip to see my folks when I stopped for lunch in the city of Norman, OK. I parked in a grass field near the restaurant that had two other cars parked on it. There were no "No Parking" signs or other indications.
I returned about an hour later and there was a note on my windowshield saying:
No Parking - Private Property
Car Tag will be towed.
[license plate info] [car color/make info]
I left quickly, but I'm confused by what the note-writer meant. Did he mean that my car was going to be towed, but I left before the tow truck got there?
What I'm most concerned about is that my car tag information was given to a tow truck company and if they see my car later, they will tow it. I know repossession tow companies do that for vehicles that haven't been paid for.
Is this something I should be worried about or was I lucky to have gotten out of there before I was towed?
