I'm planning to spend New Year holidays (8 days) in Paris and looking for some interesting places/events that are not very well known to tourists, but are real gem of this city and it's way of life? So, something that is not included in standard touristic offers, but worth to see/feel...

Also, tips&tricks for Paris visit are more than welcome!

Hi Nemanja, welcome to Travel.SE. Could you be more specific about your likes/dislikes? Even if you remove the standard options (Louvre, Eiffel tower, Notre Dame) there are hundreds of possible options to talk about in a city that big...and its immediate vicinity. As per our faq, we try to get questions that can be specifically answered, and not generate lists in the answer. If you could make it more focussed by asking specific questions on what you're looking for, then this could be reopened. La Tour Maine-Montparnasse observation deck. You will have 1/100 the tourist traffic compared to the Eiffel Tower, & equally nice views. Le Musée Marmottan, a nice out-of-the-way museum featuring the Impressionists. A boat trip up the Canal Saint-Martin. Figure out when the street markets are going to be in your area. They are always lively, & great food is available. My favorite thing to do in Paris is to walk around (flâner). I like the cafeteria at the BHV. The streets will be beautiful during the holidays w/ all the light decorations. An ice cream at Berthillon. Cassis is the best flavor. – Julien Chastang Dec 13 '11 at 19:51
