i want to avoid paying import duty if possible I am buying the ps4 from the us as its cheaper but customs going to make that worthless and raise the price if i unbox it and bring it in my check in bag then can i avoid it or can i bring it boxed only in my bag only or is there any other method to do so like an import limit

You shouldn't need to "hide" anything, since a PS4 costs ~US$400, and India has a tax-free allowance of Rs. 35,000, or ~US$600 at time of writing.
