Many UK insurers provide policies not only to UK residents but all EU residents - most often a better deal than available in your country; if you speak English.

I know this is not the place for specific recommendations so that's why I asked how to choose one?

Besides the usual suspects (trustworthy company in good financial shape, good customer service) I am especially looking for the following:

From the above link: we not only want to self-connect flight from the UK or EU but for example intra-Asian airlines as well such as Air Asia

My candidate doesn't have to be based in the UK but it is highly likely. The question is, how to start the research between countries? The EU is a single market!

Methinks that if you know for a fact that UK insurers are likely to offer a better deal than insurers in all 27 other EU countries, you already know a lot more about the insurance market than anybody here. (Sorry no constructive answer to offer…) –  Relaxed Oct 24 '13 at 7:15

A bit more useful perhaps: I don't understand your second point, what do you mean by “poor bookings”? Overbooking and subsequent rescheduling from the airline? (+1 to the question btw) –  Relaxed Oct 24 '13 at 7:27
