My brother has an Austrian Schengen visa; he applied for UK visitor visa as well from Austria. Is it possible for him to board from some near by country (Schengen only) rather then Austria.

i.e Can he take a flight from Hungary to UK, as the tickets are not available from Vienna to London for specific dates? UK visa applied and issued from Austria.

I am not sure I follow. If he wants to go the UK, he needs a UK visa. Visa for the UK are issued by the UK. He might have applied for it through a UK consulate in Austria but it is not issued by (the Republic of) Austria and should not make any difference. –  Relaxed Sep 17 '13 at 11:30
Actually he is having UK visa issued from Austria. The query is weather can he board from Hungry to UK ,as tickets from vienna to london are not available for that day.He is having Schengen visa so he can go to Hungry. –  dheeraj Sep 17 '13 at 13:34
The question seems clear to me. Yes, he can board a flight to UK from anywhere. Of course he should be allowed to travel to that place by use of a visa/citizenship/etc –  happybuddha Sep 17 '13 at 18:41
@happybuddha You are probably right but it's the repeated use of the phrase “from Austria” that I find confusing. –  Relaxed Sep 18 '13 at 6:00
