I'm taking the time to edit this question now that I've had some time to do some research.
I'm considering travelling to Uruguay in the beginning of August, due to an opportunity that may have cropped up there. I would be staying there for approximately a month.
I've never been to Uruguay - and I'm not entirely familiar with the culture - but I suppose that I'll learn. The major thing that worries me right now is the airline cost of getting there; I'm based in Tallahassee, Florida, and many of the flights connect through an international airport that adds a lot of distance to my visit.
My main question (and the thing that's really holding me back at the moment) - what's the cheapest, shortest way to get to Colonia Espanola in Uruguay from the US? (I'm assuming that this would be a flight, but if I can somehow get there by sea as well, I'm open even if it will take a few days. If this is a flight, I'd like to find the shortest route possible, like through Miami, and that seems to be difficult.)
If anyone has any suggestions, I would be grateful. Everything else, I think I can look up on my own - I just would like to be able to make the best choice in this situation.
