There are some beaches you must see in your lifetime.

My top three, if we exclude almost every Maldives atoll (which would win hands down), are:

  • Trunk Bay @ Virgin Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Islands_National_Park#Trunk_Bay)
    Stunning location and an underwater trail for snorkeling its coral reef
  • Anse Lazio @ Praslin, Seychelles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anse_Lazio)
    Despite recent shark attacks, its white sand and pristine waters will find a place into your hearth
  • Pink Sand @ Harbour Island, Bahamas (http://www.harbourislandguide.com/pink-sands.htm)
    You, your loved one, a long walk at sunset...paradise.

Do you know of beaches with similar characteristics elsewhere that I may have missed?

While it is subjective and you can get many different answers, many different responses can help others plan their vacations. I think with closing certain questions like this, it makes people not want to ask questions that they want answered on a travel website. This is supposed to be a place where people can ask questions from "experts", and I just want people to feel like they can ask questions without fear of them being closed down. – AtlasRN Jun 22 '11 at 12:12

This might make a nice CW poll (if some rules are in place; specifically, one beach per answer) that draws much-needed visitors to the site. But many people categorically oppose those. Oh well. – Jonik Sep 24 '11 at 20:23
