We are planning a trip through Europe in September. We are going on a cruise that will stop in Spain, France, Croatia and Italy. We are also going to be staying in Paris, France for a week after the cruise. We live in Canada and this will be our first time traveling such a far distance and outside of North America. I have been trying to look for books from experienced travelers on traveling through Europe (something like Europe for Dummies) but came up empty. To be more specific, I want to know what to expect and how to be better prepared for Europe. For example: someone told me that when eating at restaurants in Italy, always ask for your food to go because restaurants charge you extra to dine in. We have been to Mexico many times and have learned what to do and what not to do (like don`t go out late at night, don't tell people where your staying, stay away from certain neighborhoods, etc). Any tips or where to find them?
