Hi I am going to travel and live in Sweden and Finland in summer. I would like to know which electronic/online/mobile app dictionaries are the best for learning Swedish and Finnish?

I would like to go for the most extensive and professional coverage that possibly includes even scientific terms and definitely not something that only has the simplest daily phrases, etc..

Does anyone have any experience and suggestions?

So far this is the only thing I have been able to find: Comet M14, which is not advertised as a dictionary but a translator o_O. Please post any and all options you happen to know!

Welcome to the site. Perhaps you've not yet seen the faq. We prefer questions that don't ask for suggestions, don't poll, and don't ask for 'the best'. Sorry if that seems restrictive, but this is a direct Q&A site, rather than a forum, so it's a bit different. (Although I see you're on Stackoverflow, which has the same rules). As such, I'm going to have to close this as it stands. You could either rephrase and flag to reopen, or ask a new non-subjective question, or hop into the Travel Chat and ask there - some language experts do hang around in there on occasion :) – Mark Mayo Mar 8 at 11:04
@MarkMayo I can understand every bit except polling. Despite not having an explicit intention, some questions may end up gathering answers which after the fact might give the impression of a poll having taken place. FAQ is also not the right place for publishing policies on questions. I for one as a visitor wanted to ask my question directly not after first asking a question about asking questions. If anything, call it FUQ (frequently unasked questions) or terms and conditions etc.. I will drop at Travel Answer Chat, thanks for the tip! – Cetin Sert Mar 8 at 11:45
@CetinSert I would like to know which electronic/online/mobile app dictionaries are the best for learning Swedish and Finnish? is gathering opinions of people who might have used the dictionary, which is generally frowned upon on SE. – Karlson Mar 8 at 14:23
@Karlson I agree that you are right it is frowned upon. Even popular questions are closed due exactly to what you have just mentioned. I do on the other hand have an issue with the fact that such policies are mentioned in the FAQ as it is never my frequently asked question what kind of questions are preffered on SE. Policies should be listed under a different title. I do not frequently Q a Q&A site about its prefferred types of Qs :) – Cetin Sert Mar 8 at 15:35
@CetinSert Then you should raise it on meta.stackoverflow.com – Karlson Mar 8 at 15:42
