I am planning a road trip from Seattle to Chicago on 4th March. I am looking for recommendation/ suggestions on route to take considering the weather.

Along the weather please do recommend me safe city to stay. I am traveling with family.

"ON 4th March" rather than "starting 4th March"? One safe city to stay in? Bing Maps thinks that's a 29 hour drive -and that's not counting stopping for meals etc. At ten road-hours a day it will take 3 days. At a slightly saner 6, it will take 5. This needs a LOT more planning than can fit in a single question here. – Kate Gregory Feb 27 at 1:08
Welcome to the site. Firstly, asking for trip recommendations and suggestions is against the guidelines set out in our faq. Could you please rephrase, indicating specifically what you're after in terms of route - what you want to see and so on. Secondly, if you wish to ask about accommodation, you'll need to split that off into separate questions - stackexchange operates on a one question per post style. I think the issue here is dealing with the mountain passes and/or snow. I90 is the most direct/likely route, and might be clear this time of year - you can check the conditions of Snoqualmie Pass online at WSDOT. If weather is bad at the pass, occasionally tire chains can be required. Might be worth calling up WSDOT and asking for advice. (If you want to avoid that entirely, an alternate long-way-around is to head south on I5 and then follow the Columbia east, but even that can have some snow areas.)
