I am an 18 year old Irish student thinking of going to America this summer for two months, possibly alone. My J-1 Visa means that I also have to find seasonal work. I want to earn money, meet people and experience the real America! Any advice as to where would be cheap and fun to live and work and where I could meet some cool young people? Thanks :)

Hi and welcome to Travel.SE. I and others have done the J1 visa before, but currently your question is not in a format that meets our faq rules. If you could edit your question to match those, we'd be happy to help! Example - questions that solicit/poll don't work too well. What type of work do you want to do? Cities or countryside? Mountains or sea? Really you can meet 'cool young people' anywhere, so the more detail you can add to your question, the better - this is a Q/A site, rather than a forum structure :) Thanks! – Mark Mayo Jan 8 at 19:06
