I have booked a Wizz Air ticket at January (RT 17-31/JAN) from the Netherlands to Bulgaria, but due to school I have to change the booking. What I noticed was that the rebooking fee is ridiculously high - 30 euros plus 10 euros for the fare. However, I have found an alternative flight (one-way 22/JAN) but is shall be on a different reservation and it is only 20 euros.

The dilemma is that I have to leave later than the original flight I have booked, so it means that I will not use the onward flight but will for sure use the return flight. Do you know if Wizz Air has any specific policy to no-shows at airports etc?

Failing to check-in for the first sector will lead to the cancellation of your reservation as per Wizz Air's general conditions:

9.1 Check-in starts 2 hours and closes usually 40 minutes before departure according to the Schedule at the airport of the Place of Departure. At certain airports, details of which may be obtained on our Website or from our Call Centre, check-in closes 60 minutes before departure according to the Schedule on our Website or from our Call Centre. Should you fail to (a) complete check-in procedures by the Check-in Deadline, or (b) show up at check-in or at the boarding gate in due time for any reason, we will cancel your reservation, deny your boarding and refund the amount of the Total Fare after deducting the amounts of the Fee For Other Services and the Seat Protection Fee. We suggest you purchase insurance to cover losses incurred by you being prevented from travel or from reaching the airport by the applicable Check-in Deadline for any reasons.

Bottom line, pay the re-routing fee (40 EUR) and be stuck to your original reservation unless buying a separate return ticket will be cheaper than 20 EUR.

@halabi: This is your interpretation of the wizzair conditions. The story about the return flight is not mentioned. Anyway, the concept of a return ticket does not really exist with such airlines. Some people use the term point-to-point carrier. That describes pretty well the situation. What is a return ticket in your mind, are two separate tickets for Wizzair. Thus, if you do not take the flight from Eindhoven to Sofia, the flight from Sofia to Eindhoven is not cancelled. – Marcel C. Jan 4 at 14:19
@MarcelC. the point is, failing to show for a flight will cancel the whole reservation. this applies for the OPs case since he return sector is in the same booking.. – HaLaBi Jan 4 at 14:21
@halabi: The point is that with low cost carriers such as Wizzair the concept of a return flight does not exist. You just have two flights. – Marcel C. Jan 7 at 9:14

I can't give you a Wizzair specific question, but I can say that on every other airline I've come across, missing an outbound flight will cause the airline to cancel the booking for the remaining segments on your ticket. Whilst it's possibly to not fly the return for a trip in a situation like this, trying to avoid flying the outbound will not work.

It's possible that Wizzair treats this different, but I'd say that it's extremely unlikely.
