Can you bring a bottle of champagne with you as luggage (not as hand luggage)? Or would the pressure pose a risk and as a result not be allowed?

Considering champagne is a non-flammable liquid, the TSA apparently allows it as checked luggage.

And this doesn't really surprise me. A bottle of Pepsi, deodorant spray and even compressed gas canisters are all ok to check in.

My advise to you, Contact the operating carrier of your flights and also check their website for the baggage information most of the airlines will put in this section a lot of details. Because if it's against the operating carrier's policy if Mr. President allowed you to be on that flight with your champagne the Airlines Agent have a really high authority at the airport.

90% of the answers here are not relevant to any resources and even if there's a resource it doesn't match what actually happens and actually some of them are not close to true. I've been working in ticketing for 2 years for a really big company so that is an actual experience and no one can prove his experience by a link or a screenshot. Please guys if you need me to clarify anything reply back to me and for whether it was the system or a moderator who down voted my answer! Way to welcome a new and an enthusiast member with a pretty good experience in real world application of the site topic. – Mazen El-Kashef Dec 24 '12 at 13:21
While technically correct, the answer may be down-voted for as not helpful. It provides zero useful information: obviously calling the airline to ask would help, but that's often inconvenient. – dbkk Dec 26 '12 at 17:27
Well I agree, but again you can check the airlines website and if it was unhelpful you should call each operating carrier. It's not a convenient way to get such an information but that's the truth. I've been working in this business for a long time and am trying to help. I'm not hear to get points! What's sad about the down votes is that either people are just not happy with the resolution regardless an understanding of how things work or they had the same issue and their operating carrier didn't give them any hard time so they think that I'm making a big deal out of nothing. – Mazen El-Kashef Dec 28 '12 at 6:50
If they really know the answer they could have shared it here or replied clarifying their reason. Because it's not a game and people may be mislead by the information. In the end 98% of the users are just an regular travelers. – Mazen El-Kashef Dec 28 '12 at 6:52
