There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Welcome to Travel SE, Simmy! I think there's a word missing in the question ("do", "see"?), but in any case you should edit in some more context so that the question is more answerable. What kind of things are you interested in? – Jonik Nov 28 '12 at 19:24
And to add to Jonik's point what's not too expensive? – Karlson Nov 28 '12 at 20:36

Driving I-95 from Baltimore to Florida is a very long day by itself. If you do it straight, its about 12 hours or so.

I-95 passes through (or around) some major cities:

  • Washington, DC (even a quick drive along the "Mall" will let you see the White House, Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, etc...) Price: GAS.
  • Richmond, VA (Again, drive along "Monument Avenue") Price: GAS
  • Savannah, GA (Here, drive through the main town for some antebellum gardens) Price: Gas
  • St. Augustine, FL. (the oldest city in the United States, and site of an old Spanish fort.) Price: Gas

Note, no disrespect to Fayetteville, but unless you have a burning desire to see Ft. Bragg, it's a miss.

Going through North Carolina and South Carolina, however, the main attraction is impossible to miss. Like Wall Drug in South Dakota, Pedro's South of the Border has hundreds of miles of tacky billboards. It's a dive, but it is I-95's dive. If you have kids, they'll make you stop anyways.

  • Pedro's South of the Border Price: Your sanity, dignity, and taste.

+1 just for Pedro's comment. :) – Karlson Nov 29 '12 at 14:16
